Damn - that's a perfect NYC dress for me

You know when you find a great dress online and you just know it will look perfect on you? Well, I've found one (not to mention some others) but I don't have the guts to buy it online. I'm just afraid it will look like crap once I get it on me. Anyway, I thought I would attach it so I don't forget how much I loved it. Speaking of dresses, the other day, another lawyer friend of mine and I were at Saks 5th Ave looking at some hot numbers. As much as we liked what we saw, we still were no less than shocked when we looked at the price tags attached to each item of joy. How is it that we couldn't afford these dresses which were about $400 each, when we were in the top %5 of the income bracket in the US? If we can't afford these dresses, who in the heck CAN? I see little girls (by "little" i mean around 16 years old - no offence intended) wearing beautiful dresses, boots, handbags that I couldn't afford in my respectible and well paying profession. I'm not sure who is in the wrong.

Street/subway performers in NYC

Now I know that street performers are usually struggling artists working hard to make an honest buck. But what if the street performer really sucks? Take this guy who plays his guitar and sings on the West 4th street subway station. He's usually there in the evenings on the ramp up from the downtown side of the station. He is an absolutely horrible guitar player and singer and recently, he's added a harmonica to the list of instruments he can't play. The dilemma is - do you reward the guy for at least not being on the streets robbing someone or doing drugs or do you punish him for subjecting your ears to a rare form of torture? So far I've been punishing him.
